Job Summary
- Analyse, calculate, design, and draft all types of construction, including steel structures, RCC, towers, monopolies, poles, and other related projects produced by the AWCC engineering team.
- Provide the project maps and drawings in 2D, 3D, Civil 3D, and rivet software, and design the project structural engineering package by SAB, ETABS, and MicroStation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and draft CAD (computer-aided-design) drawings, plans, layouts and revise detailed mechanical parts, assemblies, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, established references, and standard data such as structures, devices, mechanics, electrical, or electronics.
- Utilize computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as CAD latest version, SketchUp, Autodesk Design Review, etc.
- Work with various CAD software including Revit, SAB, ETABS, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
- Print methodology of DWG files as per AWCC standards.
- Provide drawings for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate into drawings by other designers/drafters.
- Provide layout and details portions of projects using a schematic layout by the project lead engineer.
- Perform field activities such as observing and recording existing field conditions and taking and verifying measurements within the project area.
- Analyse and design structures, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Prepare detailed structural drawings and specifications for construction projects.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing structures and provide recommendations for repairs or modifications.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to develop cost-effective and innovative structural solutions.
- Perform structural calculations and simulations to determine load capacities and stability of structures according to the US and European standards and codes.
- Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Conduct structural inspections during construction to ensure adherence to design plans and quality standards.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation, including structural analysis reports and construction progress reports.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in structural engineering practices.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and drafters in the structural engineering team.
- Produce structural engineering 3D models and 2D construction drawings using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software for industrial structural infrastructure such as steel racks and supports, building envelope and accessories, concrete foundations, concrete and steel piles, stairs, platforms and ladders, and produce material quantity take-offs.
- The incumbent of this position will work alongside more experienced engineers and designers to perform 2D drafting and 3D modeling tasks.
Job Requirements
- Must have a graduate degree in Civil engineering or Architecture.
- Must have 4 years of experience in architectural and Civil structure design.
- Ability to speak Dari, Pashto, and English.
- Ability to use AutoCAD and 2D, 3D, Civil 3D, Revit, SAB, ETABS & MicroStation programs.
- Basic understanding of the discipline’s equipment and material lists.
- Good logical and mental ability, problem-solving skills, and an ability to grasp concepts quickly.
