Job Summary

The Cashier Intern is responsible for handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently. This role ensures excellent customer service by processing payments, answering customer inquiries, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Transaction Processing: Process customer bill payments, mobile top-ups, and bundle activations, ensuring accurate daily reconciliation.
• Money Transfer Services: Handle international money transfer services such as Western Union, MoneyGram, and Ria in compliance with company and regulatory guidelines.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of daily cash inflows and outflows.
• Salary Management: Manage and record salary payments in a timely and secure manner.
• Cash Collection: Collect cash from the sales team and perform daily reconciliation to ensure accuracy and accountability.
• Customer Interaction: Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Sales Transactions: Process sales transactions including cash, credit, debit, and other payment methods.
• Issuing Receipts: Issue receipts, refunds, or change as necessary.
• Cash Drawer Maintenance: Maintain accurate cash drawer balances and follow cash handling procedures.
• Customer Assistance: Assist customers with inquiries, product information, and store policies.
• Returns and Exchanges: Handle returns and exchanges according to company policies.
• Checkout Area Maintenance: Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies (bags, receipt paper, etc.).
• Reporting: Report discrepancies, errors, or suspicious activities to management.
• Team Support: Support other team members when required.

Job Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous experience as a cashier or in customer service is preferred.
• Skills: Basic math and computer skills.
• Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Accuracy: Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
• Attention to Detail: Good time management and attention to detail.
• Environment Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

• Standing for long periods.
• May require working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Control E-Money Balance of Agents and Merchants.
