Job Descriptions
The Medical Doctor will be responsible for a range of clinical duties, including:
- Ward Rounds: Conduct daily ward rounds for observation and review of patients, ensuring case notes, transfers, referrals, and discharges are documented daily.
- Clinics: Run clinics on a regular basis.
- Patient Monitoring: Regularly monitor patients' progress.
- Emergency Care: Attend to emergency cases when necessary and carry out emergency surgical procedures while on duty.
- Patient Counseling: Counsel patients and their relatives on health management.
- Support Services: Ensure timely availability of required support services for treating patients, especially when referred to specialists.
- Consultant Liaison: Liaise with consultants on specialized cases in patient care.
- Clinical Activities: Participate in all clinical activities, supporting departmental heads with medical reports, audits, and mortality reviews.
- Teaching and Supervision: Teach healthcare providers (nurses and midwives) specific techniques and supervise staff to identify training and development needs.
- Clinical Governance: Actively participate in clinical governance and quality assurance activities and comply with rotation to other clinical departments.
- Community Support: Provide teaching and clinical support to community midwifery students.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department or Medical/Clinical Director.
Job Requirements
Specifications (Minimum Requirements)
- Education: Medical Doctor.
- Work Experience: At least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
Skills
- Planning and supervision skills in healthcare settings.
- Good communication skills.
- Proficiency in English and fluency in local languages (Dari, Pashto, Uzbek).
Personal Characteristics
- Honesty, flexibility, and intelligence.
