Job Summary: SCOPE/ICT Officer
The SCOPE/ICT Officer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of ICT equipment, network systems, and data management activities. This role includes preventive maintenance of servers, software support, network security, user access control, and coordination with suppliers. The officer will also manage SCOPE-related data, ensure alignment with program objectives, and collaborate with WFP and partner staff to support registration and beneficiary data processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
· ICT Operations:
· Ensure the smooth functioning of ICT equipment and network activities.
· Supervise the data saving system.
· Provide software support to users for information sharing and electronic mail.
· Preventive Maintenance:
· Conduct preventive maintenance of servers.
· Ensure network equipment (servers, switches, pathways) functions properly.
· Carry out daily/weekly maintenance tasks and ensure they are completed.
· Network Security:
· Ensure security of the network (antivirus, access control, data saving).
· Manage user profiles and access rights.
· Documentation and Training:
· Create or update instruction manuals to capitalize on network use.
· Supplier Management:
· Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts, avoiding intermediaries.
· Create and maintain a suppliers database.
· Data Management:
· Maintain accurate beneficiary data within SCOPE.
· Collaborate with WFP and partner staff involved in SCOPE operations.
· Ensure SCOPE aligns with program requirements and objectives.
Job Requirements
Education and Relevant Skills
· Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
· Experience:
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in information technology, emergency response programs, and related fields. Previous work experience with WFP projects is advantageous.
· Interpersonal Skills:
· Ability to interact well with a diverse range of people and respect individuals from all backgrounds, ethnicities, and genders.
Required Competencies
· Technical Skills:
· Practical experience with the SCOPE platform.
· Familiarity with data collection tools and de-duplication mechanisms.
· Work Ethic:
· Ability to work under pressure and conduct fieldwork.
· Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
· Language Skills:
· Proficiency in Pashto and Dari.
· Community Engagement:
· Demonstrate good behavior and character when interacting with community members.
