Job Description: Procurement Officer

Responsibilities

The job holder will be accountable for the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Procurement Knowledge:
    • Support various procurement tasks such as sourcing, bidding, and contract management.
    • Stay updated on Kabul local market trends and pricing to make informed procurement decisions.
  • Efficiency and Collaboration:
    • Work diligently to meet procurement deadlines and objectives.
    • Collaborate with the procurement team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Procurement Management:
    • Manage the procurement of services, equipment, appliances, and vehicles for head offices, Kabul branches, and field offices, whether locally or through imports.
    • Maintain professionalism and integrity while representing the organization in procurement activities.
  • Supplier Relations:
    • Identify opportunities for new and integrated supply agreements to achieve economic savings and increased service levels from suppliers.
    • Procure goods and contractual services and dispose of unserviceable office properties in accordance with applicable administrative guidelines and procedures.
  • Communication and Record Keeping:
    • Receive and respond to all related requests and queries in a timely manner.
    • Assure quality control of assets purchased or services rendered.
    • Maintain admin record files and keep relevant records updated in both soft and hard formats as per policy, ensuring preparation for audits and achieving audit objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Information Technology.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient writing skills in Dari, Pashto, and English.
    • Strong analytical and project management skills.
    • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Familiarity with procurement processes and required documentation.
    • Knowledge of the Kabul local market.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Dedication to maintaining professionalism and integrity in all procurement activities.
