Job Summary
The Deposit Mobilization Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to grow the deposit base of the bank. This role involves managing and supervising the deposit liability team, overseeing budgeting, planning, and analysis of deposit liabilities. The incumbent will ensure that the deposit portfolio meets customer needs and aligns with organizational goals, collaborating with product development and marketing teams to enhance CASA (Current Account Savings Account) products and services.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Functions
- Strategy Development: Review and implement deposit strategies and plans for the bank.
- Performance Monitoring: Track retail liabilities portfolio performance against business plans and budgets.
- Team Management: Supervise the deposit liability team across all branches.
- Branch Collaboration: Work closely with Relationship Managers (RMs) and Branch Managers (BMs) to engage in deposit mobilization efforts.
- Market Analysis: Maintain and monitor deposit pricing internally and compare it with competitors regularly.
- Capacity Building: Collaborate with the Human Capital and Training department to plan and implement training programs for Relationship Officers.
- Target Achievement: Meet assigned targets for self and team, focusing on current accounts.
- Customer Engagement: Visit high-net-worth customers regularly to maintain relationships and present new deposit schemes.
- Succession Planning: Identify, hire, and develop suitable candidates for the deposit liability team.
- Performance Reporting: Report deposit portfolio performance against targets for self and team.
- Deposit Growth Management: Manage deposit attrition and maintain growth metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Product Development: Review and recommend changes to existing CASA products to enhance performance.
- New Product Design: Design and implement competitive deposit schemes in collaboration with the product development team.
- Treasury Liaison: Work with Treasury to propose new interest-bearing deposit products to the Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO).
- Market Assessment: Analyze data and conduct market assessments for deposit mobilization with the marketing team.
- Government Bidding: Participate in bidding processes for large deposits from government institutions.
- MIS Reporting: Collaborate with the IT team to ensure the deposit liability team can generate necessary MIS reports.
- Customer Satisfaction: Work with the Business Strategy Management (BSM) team to conduct customer satisfaction surveys.
- Industry Awareness: Stay informed about developments in deposit product marketing to maintain competitive effectiveness.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and relationship management, preferably in CASA deposit mobilization.
- Knowledge of core banking systems and AML/CFT regulations.
- Skills:
- High proficiency in spoken and written English; good command of local languages.
- Strong skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
