Job Summary
The ATM Technical Officer is primarily responsible for the end-to-end support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Afghan United Bank’s ATM and POS infrastructure. This includes managing hardware and software operations, ensuring uptime and functionality, and coordinating with vendors for deployment, upgrades, and issue resolution. The role is vital to maintaining the reliability and effectiveness of self-service and point-of-sale banking services.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Provide first-level technical support for ATMs, POS terminals, Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, and E-Commerce Gateway services.
· Monitor ATM and card switch systems (AfPay, MasterCard, Visa) to ensure continuous service availability and timely issue resolution.
· Coordinate with the switch vendor and third-party service providers for system upgrades, configurations, and incident management.
· Support onboarding and technical setup of POS merchants and E-Commerce merchants, including configuration and testing.
· Assist in testing and implementation of new digital banking features, services, and systems.
· Maintain accurate logs and documentation of technical activities, incidents, and changes.
· Ensure timely follow-up and escalation of unresolved issues to appropriate teams or vendors.
· Collaborate with internal departments to resolve customer-facing technical issues and contribute to service improvement.
· Adhere to internal IT, cybersecurity, and compliance standards for all supported platforms.
· Participate in business continuity and contingency support processes for digital systems.
Job Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related technical field.
· Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in ATM and/or POS maintenance and support, preferably in a banking or financial environment.
· Strong knowledge of ATM and POS hardware components, software configurations, and troubleshooting.
· Familiarity with ATM switch systems and integration protocols.
· Understanding of network connectivity and remote management tools.
· Ability to manage vendor coordination and service level monitoring.
· Willingness to travel to branches or ATM sites as needed.
· Strong problem-solving and field support capabilities.
· Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
