Job Summary
Ghazanfar Bank is seeking an Islamic Investment Officer/Assistant in the Credit Department and its branches, specifically in Herat province, to handle the bank's credit facilities for customers and monitor transactions under the supervision of the Chief Credit Officer (CCO) or Deputy Chief Credit Officer (Dy CCO).
Duties & Responsibilities
As an Islamic Investment Officer, you are responsible for:
1. Adhering to the Credit Policy and Circulars.
2. Following timeframes properly.
3. Marketing for new clients for Islamic Investment, including clients for Guarantees, Letters of Credit, and other Islamic products.
4. Preparing all loan documents related to Islamic Investment as per the policy and procedure of the credit department.
5. Ensuring compliance with Sharia laws and the Credit Policy.
6. Purchasing commodities for Murabaha cases under the confirmation of CCO/Dy CCO/Islamic Investment Manager.
7. Ensuring all wording in loan documents is correct without spelling mistakes.
8. Obtaining colored copies of business licenses, Tazkera, passports of the president/vice president of the company/mortgagor, and other related documents.
9. Providing/sending inquiry/confidential report letters to other governmental/private banks or financial organizations.
10. Acceptance/rejection of new cases is the authority of the CCO/Dy CCO.
11. Checking the tax status of each client in the CR system of DAB at the initial stage.
12. Monitoring the credit portfolio (funded) quarterly to ensure borrowers fulfill the terms of the loan agreement and informing the CCO/Dy CCO of any negligence.
13. Checking and signing all monitoring reports (including branches) and forwarding them for SME Head signature.
14. Checking monthly projected and applied interests to ensure they are calculated correctly.
15. Preparing all loan documents related to conventional loans and other types of loan documents as needed.
16. Visiting clients (including provincial) for business assessments when necessary.
17. Ensuring all required information/documents of cases are completed before the credit committee meeting and disbursement.
18. Sending credit inquiry letters (including confidential reports) to other banks and/or organizations.
19. Performing any other assignments (special projects) as assigned in accordance with policy and procedure.
Job Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration; a Master’s degree is preferred.
2. At least 2–3 years of professional experience in the bank’s credit section.

12. Maintaining and retaining the existing customers of the branch.
13. Identifying sales opportunities in the market.
14. Acting as a key contact for large customer accounts.
15. Providing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly report to the line manager.
16. Making the brand image of GB in the related branch area.
17. Monitoring customer’s transaction closely for purpose of customer retention.
18. Seeking customers need and satisfactions from GB services.
19. Growing banks number of accounts.
20. Marketing branch within the community to attract business.
21. Managing and oversees all banking policies, procedures and process.
22. Any other responsibility which will be assign by line manager.
23. Must manage the internal controls of the Branch properly and in line with the policies and procedures of the Bank.
24. To ensure that all the Bank Operational and other related Manuals and circulars are strictly followed.
25. To ensure that all the directives with regards to Anti Money Laundering are strictly observed and reporting about suspicious and large transactions is made to the respective department timely and accurately.
26. To ensure that Key Registers for the Vault and Safe Keys are properly maintained and updated.
27. Must ensure that the Branch always remain complied to all the rules, regulations, instructions and guidelines provided by the management through CEO, COO or Compliance Department. Must also ensure that all the required statements/returns from the Branch are submitted to the concerned departments accurately and within the given time frame.
