Job Summary
The TXN BO Engineer is responsible for managing and providing L2 Back Office support for all Microwave PTP, Microwave PMP, Optical fiber nodes, IPRAN, OSN nodes, and any other legacy equipment in the network, as well as any future transmission equipment the Customer deploys as part of network modernization.
Duties & Responsibilities
Mandatory Experience
- Proficient in Huawei RTN series, NCE, and Huawei OSN.
Key Responsibilities
- Performance Monitoring
- Check the performance of core microwave links and fixed transmission connections.
- Network Optimization
- Conduct capacity planning, performance analysis, system tuning, and reporting.
- Acceptance Testing
- Perform acceptance testing of any new nodes, services, or solutions being introduced into the network.
- Security Management
- Create and supervise the Security and Access Management Policy for transmission network elements.
- Configuration Management
- Keep records of all configuration changes using work orders and update network topology and HLD/LLD after each change.
- Emergency Handling
- Initiate emergency handling procedures and monitor the progress of problem-solving activities.
- Capacity Management
- Escalate capacity shortages to the concerned function as per the capacity management process.
- Performance Analysis
- Address transmission issues related to packet loss, delay, jitter, availability, optical power level, and more.
- Data Backup
- Ensure all NE’s data backups are completed and stored according to procedures.
- Software Updates
- Perform software updates to repair equipment malfunctions and upgrade features to the latest software release.
- Testing
- Carry out equipment lifeline tests, traffic redundancy tests, and load tests.
- Traffic Migration
- Manage traffic and subscriber migration, forecasting network needs and expansions.
- End-to-End Management
- Ensure end-to-end transmission network performance management as per agreed KPIs.
- Auditing
- Perform weekly/daily audits on capacity utilization per transmission link and implement load balancing if available.
- Training
- Provide guidance and training to the TXN team on L2 functions and support.
- License Management
- Conduct periodic audits and report the status of all installed licenses for NE’s within the transmission network.
OH&S/QMS Role and Responsibilities
- Report any hazards or risks, along with accidents/incidents, to the QHSE department.
- Comply with i engineering’s IMS Policy and local legal requirements.
- Attend and engage in IMS awareness sessions.
- Ensure that all IMS procedures are regularly followed and raise issues when they are not.
Job Requirements
- BSc. in Electrical/IT, Telecom Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar job role.
- Excellent technical presentation and people management skills.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work under pressure and troubleshoot effectively.
- Capable of professionally managing confidential information.
- Solid understanding of legal terminology.
