Job Summary
The Cashier is responsible for handling daily cash transactions, managing petty cash, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the safekeeping of cash. The Cashier will assist the finance team in ensuring smooth financial operations at the branch
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Cash Handling & Transactions:
- Receive and process payments from customers, employees, and vendors.
- Disburse payments for authorized expenditures, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Manage cash deposits and withdrawals, ensuring secure handling of cash at all times.
2. Petty Cash Management:
- Maintain and manage petty cash, ensuring it is adequately funded for daily operations.
- Record all petty cash transactions and reconcile the petty cash ledger regularly with receipts and supporting documents.
3. Record Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date cash records for all transactions.
- Ensure timely preparation of daily cash flow reports and submission to the Provincial Branch Accountant.
- Reconcile cash on hand with accounting records to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
4. Bank Transactions:
- Assist with the preparation of cash deposits and perform bank transactions as needed.
- Maintain proper documentation of all bank-related activities, including deposit slips and payment receipts.
- Prepare Bank Reconciliation Statement.
5. Compliance & Security:
- Ensure all cash transactions follow company policies and local regulations.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of cash holdings, financial documents, and related information.
- Report any suspicious activities or discrepancies to the Branch Accountant or Finance Manager.
6. Customer Service:
- Provide accurate and timely cash-related services to customers and staff.
- Respond to inquiries about payments, receipts, and balances in a professional and courteous manner.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in cash handling or accounting roles.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial management.
- Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in Dari, Pashto, and English
