Job Description: Armored Vehicle Driver


Job Summary

To operate and drive armored vehicles with a high level of professionalism for management, adhering to all relevant legislation, regulations, and AIB policies and procedures.


Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Vehicle Checkup:
    Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip checks of the armored vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  2. Following Security Protocols:
    Adhere to strict security procedures and protocols during transport to minimize risks of theft or robbery.
  3. Monitoring Surroundings:
    Stay vigilant and monitor the environment for any suspicious activities or potential threats during transport, reporting them to the line manager immediately.
  4. Maintaining Communication:
    Maintain continuous communication with the bank’s security teams to report any incidents or emergencies to the supervisor.
  5. Loading and Unloading:
    Safely load and unload cash and valuables from the armored vehicle, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage or loss to bank assets.
  6. Responding to Emergencies:
    React swiftly and efficiently to emergencies, including vehicle breakdowns or security threats, following established protocols.
  7. Operating Armored Vehicle:
    Drive the armored vehicle safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  8. Performing Routine Maintenance:
    Conduct routine maintenance checks on the vehicle, such as checking oil, brakes, and tires.
  9. Handling Security Equipment:
    Use and maintain security equipment, including GPS tracking devices and the vehicle's CCTV system.
  10. Assisting in Security Drills:
    Participate in security drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness for potential incidents.
  11. Reporting Incidents:
    Document and report any incidents or irregularities that occur during transport at any destination.
  12. Conducting Risk Assessments:
    Assess potential risks associated with each transport route and adjust plans accordingly.
  13. Maintaining Confidentiality:
    Ensure the confidentiality of all sensitive information and transactions handled during transport.
  14. Collaborating with Team Members:
    Work closely with the escort driver and security personnel to ensure effective operations and safety.
  15. Other Duties:
    Perform other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications:

  • Minimum Secondary School education; 12th-grade graduates are highly preferred.

Relevant Experience & Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in driving.
  • Updated driving license.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Good communication skills (understanding Dari and Pashto).
  • Strong driving record.
  • Basic maintenance knowledge.
  • Physical fitness and strength.
  • Knowledge of traffic laws.
