Job Description: Graphic Design and Monitoring Associate


Job Summary

UNDP is the leading United Nations organization focused on ending poverty, inequality, and climate change. With over 50 years of experience in Afghanistan, UNDP supports various initiatives, including climate change, governance, health, and livelihoods. The newly launched “Digital Solutions for Recovery” project aims to promote digital solutions for recovery in Afghanistan, aligning with UNDP’s Strategic Plan for 2022-2025.

The Graphic Design and Monitoring Associate will provide technical support in designing project materials for digital interventions and assist in data collection from the field. Working under the guidance of the Project Manager, the incumbent will collaborate closely with team members, partners, UN agencies, and civil society to implement project activities promoting digitalization.


Duties & Responsibilities

·       Design Project Materials:

    • Create visually appealing and effective project materials for digital interventions.
    • Assist in the design of standard booklets and other graphical materials.

·       Data Collection Support:

    • Assist in collecting data from the field and conducting surveys.
    • Coordinate between UNDP and stakeholders regarding the implementation of digitalization and innovation activities.

·       Collaboration:

    • Work closely with partners, UN agencies, technical advisors, and civil society to implement project activities.
    • Provide full support in implementing digitalization activities as part of the “Digital Solutions for Recovery” project.

·       Technical Assistance:

    • Ensure necessary technical assistance is provided for project activities related to digitalization and innovation.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information and Communication Technologies, Graphic Design, or related fields.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in graphic design and implementation of digital and innovation-related projects/programs.
  • Proven experience with graphic design software and art, specifically in designing standard booklets and other graphical materials.
  • Previous experience working with community-based NGOs and private sector companies is an asset.

Competencies:

  • Exceptional interpersonal, digital, and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with clear verbal presentation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in industry-standard design software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and CorelDRAW).
  • Extensive experience in print design, including booklet layout and print production preparation.
  • A good team player and self-starter who can work under minimal supervision while maintaining good relationships.

Language Requirements:

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Fluency in local languages, Pashto and Dari, is required.
