Job Description: Stock Assistant


Job Summary

The Stock Assistant is responsible for the preservation, maintenance, reporting, and distribution of items present and incoming in the stock. This role includes preparing distribution and inventory reports for superiors, as well as organizing and categorizing materials and items effectively.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management:
    • Receive and store inventory in a stockroom.
    • Ensure products are safely packaged and properly distributed.
    • Carry out periodic inventory audits.
  • Stock Organization:
    • Organize the stockroom or warehouse, ensuring accurate labeling, placement, arrangement, and cleanliness of goods.
    • Check stock levels and order new stock as necessary.
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Answer customer queries, either online or face-to-face.
  • Data Management:
    • Update stock information on computer systems.
    • Provide administrative assistance to the Admin/Finance team.
    • Assist in preparing training packages.
  • Reporting:
    • Prepare weekly and monthly inventory update reports for the supervisor.
    • Perform periodic monitoring and physical checks for various consumables and fixed assets as required.
  • Documentation Compliance:
    • Ensure all items are received with proper documentation (e.g., delivery report forms, goods received notes) in coordination with the procurement unit.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • University degree in a relevant discipline is an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in storekeeper or warehouse keeper positions.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in Dari, Pashto, and English.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs (Windows, Word, Excel, and Email).
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Capable of taking initiative and thinking strategically.

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in Pashto and Dari; very good command of English.

Personal Attributes:

  • Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian principles and the mission of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and multicultural environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
