Job Description: Intern - Procurement


Position Summary

The Intern is responsible for assisting the Senior Procurement Specialist in all procurement and procurement administrative activities, ensuring compliance with World Bank procurement regulations and supporting various procurement processes.


Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Procurement Specialist in maintaining accurate records of all procurement processes.
  • Support the preparation and periodic updating of procurement plans.
  • Follow up on payments, contracts, and procurement documents with other sections and departments.
  • Aid in the preparation of RFQs (Request for Quotations), bid documents for works, goods, and non-consultancy services, as well as RFPs (Request for Proposals) for consultancy assignments.
  • Monitor the progress of all procurement processes and follow up until completion.
  • Update procurement documents in the database as required.
  • Assist with filing and daily administrative issues in collaboration with other sections and stakeholders.
  • Maintain close coordination within the unit and with other departments while adhering to ethical practices.
  • Acquire an understanding of relevant policies and procedures.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with the HR team and supervisor to discuss the Personal Development Plan.
  • Follow the organization’s security policies, procedures, and daily safety instructions.
  • Undertake any other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Fresh University Graduate (Bachelor in Business Administration).

Experience

  • No prior experience required.

Other Qualifications

  • Proficiency in computer applications (MS Office Package).

Languages

  • Proficiency in Dari/Pashto and English.
