BRAC began its operation in Afghanistan in 2002, has been implementing its development programs in education, health, citizens’ charter Afghanistan programme as well as capacity development in the country.
Job Summary
The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of office premises by monitoring access points, conducting regular patrols, and responding to emergencies.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Regularly patrol assigned areas to ensure the security and safety of the premises, property, and individuals.
- Utilize surveillance equipment, such as cameras and monitors, to monitor the premises and detect suspicious activities.
- Control access to restricted areas by checking identification and verifying credentials to ensure only authorized personnel enter.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents such as disturbances, thefts, or medical emergencies, taking appropriate action to mitigate risks.
- Enforce security policies and regulations established by the organization to maintain a safe environment.
- Identify potential security risks and take proactive measures to prevent breaches or threats.
- Participate in emergency drills and training exercises to ensure readiness for various crisis situations.
- Register visitors and verify their identity during office and non-office hours.
- Guide visitors and clients to the relevant departments within the office.
- Inspect visitors and vehicles entering the premises.
- Provide regular reports to the line supervisor during both day and night shifts.
Job Requirements

- Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to changing environments and unexpected situations.
- Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with other security personnel and emergency responders.
