Job Description: Head Cashier

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Branch Manager, the Head Cashier will serve as the custodian for the vault key, maintain the cash balance, and handle cash transactions.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Vault Key Custody: Keep a copy of the vault keys in custody.
2. Cash Position Maintenance: Maintain an adequate cash position in the cash vault.
3. Document Verification: Ensure that provided documents are correct and complete.
4. Transaction Scrutiny: Check and scrutinize internal cash transactions for proper authorizations.
5. End-of-Day Cash Counting: Properly count cash at the end of the day for closure.
6. Cash Balance Responsibility: Be responsible for maintaining the proper cash balance in the vault.
7. Cash Transfers: Transfer cash to tills and vice versa.
8. Daily Balancing: Balance cash in the vault at the end of the day and sign for control.
9. Training: Provide training and guidance to newly recruited cashiers.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

1. Education: High School Graduation is a must; higher education will be preferred.
2. Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience related to the mentioned position.
3. System Familiarity: Familiarity with the Flex-Cube system.
4. Communication Skills: Good communication skills both oral and written in Dari, Pashto, and English.
5. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
6. Data Entry Skills: Fast data entry skills.
7. Accuracy and Flexibility: Strong accuracy and flexibility are required.
