Job Description:

Job Summary:

Head Waiters are senior members of the food service team and are responsible for training junior staff, evaluating customer satisfaction, promoting special menu items, monitoring waiters, assigning tasks, and solving customer complaints.

Job Requirements:

Main Duties and responsibilities:

·         Trains and supervises restaurant servers to give high standards of service in terms of time, quality and personalization.

·         Supervises the mise-en-place of the assigned station to ensure a smooth service during operation.

·         Inspects table layouts in the station ensuring that they meet the standards set.

·         Checks and ensure the serviceability of equipment and furniture.

·         Sells food and beverage so as to meet restaurant budgets.

·         Takes food and beverage orders correctly.

·         Gives wine service according to international practices.

·         Prepares flambe items, if offered by the restaurant, with showmanship and authenticity in preparation

·         Controls the inventory of cutlery and service equipment allotted to the station.

·         Assigns duties ensuring equity of work.

·         Ensures that staff meets hygiene and discipline standards.

·         Ensures that the station is free from dust.

Qualification: 

·         High school diploma preferred.

·         Degree in hospitality or similar preferred 

·         3-5 years of experience in head wiater or Captain. 

·         Excellent leadership abilities and the ability to manage many staff members. 

·         Food handler card required in some states.

·         Experience working in a restaurant may be preferred.

·         Communication, customer-service, interpersonal skills; team-oriented, physical stamina; detail-oriented and self-motivated
